About the role:

Job Title: Staff Platform Engineer

Experience: 8-10 years

Location: India (Remote)

Reports to: Senior Infrastructure Manager

Sibros builds the Deep Connectivity Platform, the world’s leading solution for full vehicle over-the-air software updates, real-time data collection, and AI-powered analytics in a single system.

We are looking for a Staff Platform Ops Engineer to join our established Platform Engineering team and act as a technical leader. This role does not include people management responsibilities but focuses on mentorship, technical excellence, and reliability of our platform at scale. As a pillar of the team, you will guide architectural decisions, drive best practices, and ensure the stability, scalability, and efficiency of our platform.

What You’ll Do:

• Act as a technical leader for the team, mentoring engineers and guiding design decisions to ensure long-term maintainability and scalability.
• Own and drive architectural decisions for critical platform components, such as service mesh, authentication, observability, storage abstractions, feature flagging, and other core platform services.
• Lead multi-cloud strategy efforts, ensuring best practices in abstraction and consistency across cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure), while minimizing operational complexity.
• Identify systemic gaps and inefficiencies as we scale to millions of devices, designing generic, reusable solutions to improve reliability, observability, and performance.
• Champion automation and efficiency across the engineering organization by building tools, frameworks, and self-service capabilities that empower teams to focus on product innovation.
• Advocate for and implement best-in-class engineering practices, ensuring high-performance and scalable software design in both application code and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) solutions.
• Drive incident management and reliability initiatives, improving monitoring, alerting, and operational response to proactively maintain platform stability.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with teams across engineering, security, and product to influence technical strategy and drive alignment.

What You Should Know:

• Deep expertise in large-scale distributed systems, ideally in IoT platforms or similar high-scale, high-availability architectures.
• Extensive experience in cloud infrastructure, particularly Kubernetes, container orchestration, and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) with Terraform (preferred).
• Strong knowledge of cloud-native architectures and ability to abstract complexity across multiple cloud providers.
• Proficiency in at least one production-grade programming language (Golang preferred), with a strong understanding of software design principles and performance optimizations.
• A track record of mentoring engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence, and influencing engineering direction across teams.
• Experience in observability, monitoring, and reliability engineering, ensuring that platform services are highly available and resilient.
• Passion for automation and DevOps principles, reducing operational toil through CI/CD, self-healing infrastructure, and efficient workflows.
• Strong systems-thinking approach, balancing short-term tactical improvements with long-term strategic investments.
