About the role:

Job Title: Subject Matter Expert, Functional Safety

Experience: 10 - 18 years

This role will act as a business subject matter expert (SME) and technical thought leader responsible for driving Sibros’ engagement and growth in the domain of Automotive Functional Safety (FuSa).

This role emphasizes customer interaction, solution definition, and technical partnership—translating customer needs into innovative, safety-compliant architectures and offerings. The leader will represent Sibros’s capabilities in functional safety at various customer discussions, technical forums, and industry events, while shaping the company’s FuSa strategy and positioning as a trusted technology partner.

What you’ll do:

1. Customer Engagement & Solution Leadership

  • Serve as the primary functional safety SME in customer engagements across concept, proposal, and acquisition phases.
  • Understand customer system and vehicle-level safety requirements and translate them into the right solution and architecture concepts.
  • Define and present safety-compliant solutions aligned with ISO 26262 and related standards.
  • Work closely with customers to build technical credibility and establish long-term business and technology partnerships.
  • Lead discussions and workshops to position Sibros’s products and platforms as functional-safety-ready solutions.

2. Solution Architecture & Content Creation

  • Develop and validate system-level functional safety concepts and architectures for Sibros offerings.
  • Collaborate with internal product, systems, and platform teams to align design approaches with safety compliance expectations.
  • Prepare high-quality technical content, proposals, and safety-related documentation for customer submissions.
  • Drive value-based solution proposals that combine Sibros’s software platform strengths with domain-specific safety expertise.

3. Thought Leadership & Representation

  • Represent Sibros in industry forums, conferences, and working groups related to Automotive Functional Safety and Software-Defined Vehicles.
  • Author and present technical whitepapers, webinars, and case studies showcasing Sibros’s capabilities and innovations.
  • Build Sibros’s external brand as a trusted safety solution provider through thought leadership and active participation in key industry networks.

4. Strategic & Business Enablement

  • Partner with the business and sales teams to identify new opportunities and strategic partnerships in the safety domain.
  • Support customer acquisition efforts by preparing persuasive solution narratives and competitive differentiators.
  • Advise on go-to-market strategies for safety-compliant platform offerings.
  • Bring market insights, standards updates, and customer feedback to guide Sibros’s FuSa roadmap and strategic initiatives.

5. Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with internal product, architecture, and engineering teams to ensure functional safety is embedded by design in Sibros’s products.
  • Provide domain guidance and mentoring to teams on safety concepts, hazard analysis, safety goals, and validation approaches.
  • Offer expert input in defining architectures, concepts, and documentation during early phases—without direct project delivery responsibility.

What you should know:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Computer Engineering (or equivalent).
  • 10–18 years of proven experience in Automotive Functional Safety with exposure to vehicle, system, or component-level development.
  • Deep understanding of ISO 26262 safety lifecycle, safety analysis methods (HARA, FMEA, FTA), and FuSa toolchains.
  • Hands-on experience defining or reviewing safety concepts, architectures, and work products.
  • Strong customer-facing background with experience in pre-sales or technical consulting roles.
  • Familiarity with ASPICE, SOTIF, and ISO/SAE 21434 (Cybersecurity) is a plus.

Perks of joining the Sibros team:

  • Competitive and generous total compensation package including equity options.
  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision plans with company contribution.
  • Flexible vacation and paid time off. You’re the best person to decide when you need time off. Our flexible vacation policy puts you in control.
  • Team events and off-sites.
  • Budget for online courses, books, and conferences.
  • Employee wellness programs to support self-care and overall wellness.
