We are looking for a Summer Research Intern to support and expand our research at Sightline Climate. This role includes conducting primary research, analyzing market data, and producing insightful analyses that help shape the climate tech landscape.

The Role

• Conduct in-depth research across critical technologies in innovative climate tech, carbon capture and storage, and clean firm power, helping our team refresh and define our views on transition tech markets.

• Collect and analyze data in sector investment, project deployment, supply chains, and demand to build a view on commercialization.

• Convert complex data and research findings into written insights for a range of audiences, including corporate strategists, investors, policy makers, and industry leaders.

• Stay on top of the latest trends and advancements in the transition and surface emerging climate tech startups and technologies to our team.

The Essentials

• Knowledge of energy, climate, and power markets, ideally with a technology or modelling focus.

• Excellent analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on detail and accuracy.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of presenting complex data in a comprehensible manner.

• Innately curious and passionate about the energy transition.

• Ability to analyze commercial and economic implications

A Plus

• Leadership roles in university venture clubs

• Previous internships at utilities, energy companies, or VCs

• Additional data analysis skills / experience in Excel, SQL, or Python
