Senior Financial Analyst

The Senior Financial Analyst's responsibilities include assisting with financial planning and budgeting processes, analyzing financial statements and reports, developing financial models, preparing projections, and performing research and analysis as may be required by leadership. As a Senior Financial Analyst, you will also be responsible for providing project teams with financial guidance and assisting the accounting and finance team, as appropriate.

You will be responsible for working with the CFO and Finance Director to develop and execute effective and meaningful financial reporting to make information and data actionable to team members. This professional must be collaborative and interested in working with our financial and management team to grow our business as well as dig in to help determine how to continue to improve our analysis and financial reporting.

Job Duties

  • Understand the business and operations to optimize how financial reporting and analysis should be built and delivered
  • Develop financial models (including full three-statement models) to aid in understanding and analyzing the company’s business and potential opportunities
  • Review, analyze and report on company financial statements both quantitatively and qualitatively
  • Own the financial forecasting and budgeting processes, establishing, optimizing and ensuring the best possible outputs and working with the finance and accounting team to achieve timely and meaningful analysis
  • Analyze and assess complex business and financial data
  • Analyze trends and results and make recommendations based on those trends and results
  • Develop automated reporting and forecasting tools for more efficient use of data and forecast accuracy
  • Conduct thorough research to evaluate business risk and opportunities
  • Coordinate with the CFO and the executive team on long-term financial and capital planning
  • Compare anticipated and actual results and identify areas of improvement
  • Recommend, measure and report on relevant KPIs
  • Assist accounting when necessary
  • Provide outstanding service (at high level of customer satisfaction) to organizational leaders and partners
  • Ask what and why – get behind the numbers and use the data to determine and explain impacts on the business
  • Develop financial projections and models to support ongoing capital raises as well as related diligence
  • Team up with the executive team to develop the company's medium to the long-term financial and strategic plan
  • Assist with standing up ERP for new business unit and related reporting and analysis
  • Overseeing and managing all aspects of fundamental financial planning and analysis, such as planning, spending, predicting, report generation, and other tasks
  • Working with various business units to forecast income and expenses
  • Provide comprehensive review and commentary on cost allocations
  • Ensure compliance with financial guidelines, company policies and best practices
  • Support audit needs and any compliance reporting, including investor needs
  • Present financial reports/updates to company management as requested
  • Prepare analysis of financial and business results, capital spending, and expenses with comparisons to budgets and prior years
  • Prepare ad hoc financial analyses as requested
  • Additional responsibilities as requested

Physical Environment/Demands:

Job is performed primarily in an office environment (on location and remote).

Incumbent Must Have The Physical Ability To

  • Communicate effectively through both verbal and written means to varied audiences
  • Ability to travel (air, car, train or other) as necessary

Requirements Of Position

  • Bachelors degree required; MBA preferred, CPA preferred
  • At least five years’ experience, with a preference for experience as an investment banking or private equity analyst
  • Hands-on experience with financial and statistical software
  • Excellent financial modeling capabilities, ability to handle large datasets and draw a roadmap to systematically designing the flow of financial information and must have experience with three-statement modeling
  • Ability to handle multiple projects at a time, focused on the details while finding creative ways to take on big picture challenges
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Ability to present financial data using detailed reports and charts
  • Demonstrable strategic thinking skills
  • Detail-oriented and able to perform in a high-pressure environment
  • Confidentiality in handling sensitive financial information
  • High energy
  • Ability to collaborate within and lead teams
  • Effective at getting things done on time; not hesitating to be hands on where and when necessary.
