What we are looking for:

We are looking for an experienced analyst to support the growth of Stem’s Technology & Services Division. This individual will partner with Product Marketing to deliver insights on the competitive landscape to improve Stem’s go-to-market strategy. Insights into how our competitors position, message, package and sell their solutions will be critical to the continued success of Stem.

You'll be the technical resource for the Product Marketing organization and the intelligence service for senior management, providing competitive analysis and educating us on how to best position our solutions. As a Senior Competitive Intelligence Analyst, you will be:

Assessing and documenting Stem’s market position relative to our key competitors

Provide insights into how Stem competes and succeeds in a dynamic market and competitive landscape

Building training material for the sales teams on product and technical capabilities for product releases

Mining competitive differentiation from competitors, internal data sources and experts, and conducting knowledge sharing with relevant teams

Maintaining a competitive database of key information collected from various internal teams as well as external sources

The successful candidate will have strong research skills, strategic analysis skills, and familiarity with the renewables and cleantech industry. Exceptional oral and written communication skills and the ability to distill complex information into simple, easy-to understand content are critical. You will partner and collaborate with key stakeholders across product management, operations, and sales to drive key actionable insights.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead competitive intelligence by researching, gathering, and analyzing the competition, including objectively assessing gaps in product offering

  • Analyze high volume of data to understand market trends and competitor landscape

  • Inform Go-to-Market activities with key insights for incorporation into product positioning and messaging

  • Enable sales and other key stakeholders with key competitive intelligence tools such as battlecards, product maturity maps, and competitive dashboards

  • Conduct periodic reviews with customer-facing teams to exchange knowledge to further inform competitive positioning

Requirements:

  • Minimum bachelor’s degree

  • 2+ years of experience in SaaS and/or professional services industry

  • Experience in IoT and renewable energy industries is a plus

  • Strong research and quantitative as well as qualitative data analysis skills

  • Ability to work independently as well as cross-functionally to drive outcomes

  • Ability to succeed and embody a growth mindset in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong attention to detail and exceptional written/oral communication skills

  • Experience with MS Office, Confluence, and Salesforce
