Position Overview
As the Director, Edge Products, you will lead the strategy, development, and lifecycle management of Stem’s Edge hardware and software solutions. Your portfolio will include commercial and industrial power loggers and controllers, as well as grid-scale solutions like our Energy Management System (EMS), SCADA, and Power Plant Controller (PPC). Your customer base will be global, with a primary focus on North America and Europe.
This role demands a combination of strategic vision, customer empathy, and operational excellence. You will drive innovation while ensuring product-market fit, delivery on roadmap commitments, and customer satisfaction. You will collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, technology, sales, marketing, deployments, support, and customer success to bring products to life and achieve business goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Product Strategy & Vision: Develop and execute a comprehensive product strategy that aligns with company objectives and leverages emerging market trends.
- Hybrid Leadership: Balance leadership and individual contributor responsibilities. Act as the Product Manager for commercial edge solutions, directly driving roadmap development, feature prioritization, and the delivery of clear, actionable requirements to the technology team. Mentor and manage one Product Manager, providing guidance and oversight on grid-scale edge and EMS solutions.
- Product Roadmap Management: Define, prioritize, and manage the product roadmap for Edge hardware and software solutions. Lead roadmap initiatives while ensuring strategic alignment, customer value, and ROI.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with Technology, Engineering, Manufacturing, Sales, Deployments, Marketing, Support, Customer Success, and other teams to drive seamless product sales, delivery and adoption.
- Market & Competitive Analysis: Conduct hands-on market research, voice-of-customer interviews, and competitive analysis to identify opportunities, gaps, and trends, guiding product decisions and strategic direction.
- Execution & Delivery: Drive the execution of high-priority roadmap items and initiatives, ensuring timely, high-quality product delivery.
- Customer Advocacy: Engage directly with customers to uncover needs, pain points, and use cases. Act as the voice of the customer in product development and feature prioritization.
- Go-to-Market Support: Partner with Marketing and Sales to create strong value propositions, messaging, and materials to enable successful product launches and customer adoption.
- Delivery Support: Partner with Deployments, Manufacturing, Engineering and Support to ensure seamless delivery of your products with an experience that delight customers.
- Performance Monitoring: Track product performance through KPIs and customer feedback. Analyze results and drive iterative improvements based on measurable outcomes.
Requirements:
- Experience: 8+ years in product management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role within a B2B technology, software, or energy-related industry including edge / IOT hardware.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, electrical engineering, business, or a related technical field. MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- Domain Expertise: Strong understanding of renewable energy systems, particularly solar PV and battery energy storage in commercial, industrial, and utility sectors.
- Technical Skills: Experience working with hardware-software solutions and agile product development methodologies. Familiarity with tools such as JIRA, Confluence, and Figma is a plus.

Salary Range
$190,880.00 - $286,320.00What We Offer:
