As the Sr. Manager, PMO, you will manage the day-to-day activities in the PMO, providing guidance on PMO policies and processes, overseeing project management staff, and collaborating with other department leaders to develop projects and programs. This position will oversee the Delivery of Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition Systems, IT Infrastructures, and SaaS onboarding for solar and energy storage projects. The role will ensure that delivery, commissioning, and onboarding are completed on time and within budget. They also ensure all team members uphold the company's standards throughout each project's development and execution.

You will be responsible for driving global alignment on Project Management Procedures, coordinating with the Project Engineering and Project Management teams in Berlin, India, and Japan to unify best practices and procedures

Additionally, Stem is focused on global expansion, and therefore, the Sr. Manager, PMO will play an integral part in managing first-time deployments of new edge hardware and will be responsible for coordinating new product delivery. In this aspect, the Sr. Manager, PMO will need to develop and maintain a relationship with the Stem Product Management and Development team.

The ideal leader will be a problem solver who enjoys pulling multiple teams together to deliver a consistent and quality solution and someone who wants build new processes and systems on top of foundational framework used in the core business.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborating with other department leaders to define, prioritize, and develop projects.
  • Project management planning, including setting deadlines, prioritizing tasks, and assigning team members to various deliverables.
  • Analyzing financial data, including project budgets, risks, and resource allocation.
  • Providing financial reports and budget outlines to Executives.
  • Overseeing the development of the project and ensuring that team members are carrying out their tasks efficiently while upholding the company's standards.
  • Drafting new and improving existing project management office policies and processes.
  • Continuously evaluating projects to ensure they are meeting company standards, adhering to budgets, and meeting deadlines.
  • Accurately documenting the project's creation, development, and execution as well as documenting the project's scope, budget, and justification.
  • Stem is dedicated to developing internal talent and has focused on developing internal growth tracks and plans. The Sr. Manager, PMO will have responsibility to contribute through development of entry-level personnel and contribute by developing personnel to grow into senior roles within the PMO org and adjacent teams within the organization.
  • Manage PMs and provide opportunities to grow and take on larger projects
  • Prepare and present project status to stakeholders, leadership, and external customers
  • Effectively coordinate with the client and internal cross-functional resources while managing expectations, delivery scope, approach, timelines, risks, and resources
  • Coordinate internal resources developing accountability and clarity in scope and timeline for each stakeholder
  • Facilitate cross-functional meetings
  • Works with Software and Hardware Development to create, maintain and update new product delivery plans and processes.
  • Provides experience and support with market entry, specifically South and Central America.
  • Perform daily, weekly and monthly reviews and analyses of current processes using operational metrics and reports.
  • Align projects to customer business objectives and stakeholder expectations.
  • Reviews technical sales teams' proposals for accuracy and ensure contract Terms and Conditions align with company standards
  • Work with field service to efficiently organize field activities
  • Develop tools for and report periodically internally and externally on health of projects
  • Develop tools to understand and manage resource loading across the organization
  • Host periodic project meetings – internal and with customer
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
  • PMP certification preferred
  • Demonstrated experience successfully managing the deployment of projects supported by functional teams of Engineering, manufacturing and logistic in the power industry
  • Minimum of 6 years of directly managing project managers or project engineers
  • Minimum 12 years’ experience in a Project Management role within the Solar industry, related power industry, telecommunication or in delivery of SCADA and IT infrastructure
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience working on large-scale utility SCADA solutions
  • Knowledge of Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition Systems, Power Plant Controllers, and IT Networking.
  • Experience in IT Project Management a plus
  • Strong written, verbal, and customer account management skills in communicating issues, impacts, and corrective actions on programs to internal and external representatives
  • Ability to understand and communicate both technical and business information
  • Able to manage multiple projects/activities in a dynamic fast-paced environment
  • Ability to lead projects where team members represent multiple levels within the organization; equally comfortable with an Analyst and a President.
  • Have an understanding and knowledge of fundamental project management principles and concepts
  • Ability to impact operations and effect change

Work Environment:

  • Office Setting, primarily in cubicles
  • Travel by car, air, train
  • Moderate to high noise levels (i.e. business office with computers, phone, printers, moderate traffic)
  • Ability to sit or stand (standing desk provide upon request) at a computer terminal for an extended period

Physical Demands:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to, stand, sit, talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, telephone, keyboard, etc.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision requirements due to computer work
  • Light to moderate lifting may be required
  • Hybrid schedule (2-3 Days/week) with regular, predictable attendance is required

Salary Range

$120,160.00 - $180,240.00
