Role Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Director of Plant Design to join our dynamic team. This role will be pivotal in the design and development of a first-of-a-kind industrial process at a commercial scale. As a Director of Plant Design, you will be responsible for creating comprehensive flowsheets, determining the scale of the technology, and ensuring seamless integration into existing infrastructure.

What You'll Do:

Process Flowsheet Development, Scaling Optimization ● Develop a comprehensive process flowsheet for our novel sustainable copper

production process.

● Conduct thorough analyses to determine the optimal scale for the process, considering production capacity, existing infrastructure, and economic viability in your evaluations.

● Identify and select appropriate equipment, including utilities, piping systems, and control systems for plants.

● Ensure seamless integration of flowsheet and new technology with existing site infrastructure.

Risk Management and Mitigation:

● Identify potential risks and challenges associated with the design andimplementation of the new process.

● Develop and implement effective risk mitigation strategies.

Cost Estimation and Budget Management: ● Prepare accurate cost estimates for the design, construction, and commissioning

of new plant(s), ensuring alignment with project budget and financial goals.

Mission Alignment:

● Ensure the design and implementation comply with relevant industry standards, regulations, and environmental guidelines.

● Promote sustainability and environmentally friendly practices throughout the design and operational phases.

● Maintain detailed documentation of all design activities, calculations, and decisions.

● Provide regular progress reports to project stakeholders and senior management.

What You'll Bring:

● Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or related field.

● Proven experience in plant design and process engineering, preferably in the mining industry.

● Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

● Knowledge of relevant industry standards, regulations, and best practices.

● Experience with scale-up and commercialization of new technologies is a plus.
