The Automation Engineering team specializes in designing, building, and managing solutions that connect diverse software systems, automate routine tasks, and enable real-time data exchange. Reducing manual intervention, ensuring smooth interoperability between systems, and enabling scale solutions allows the enterprise to focus on strategic work and innovation.
The Senior Manager of Automation Engineering will lead a team responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining complex system automations. In this role, you will oversee cross-functional initiatives, ensure seamless communication between diverse systems, and drive the strategic direction of automation projects. You will collaborate with stakeholders across departments to deliver innovative solutions that meet business needs, enhance system reliability, and improve operational efficiency.
What You’ll Do
Leadership and Team Management
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of automation engineers.
Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Set team goals and align them with organizational objectives.
Strategic Planning
Define and execute the roadmap for automation technologies and methodologies.
Evaluate and recommend tools, platforms, and practices to optimize system automation.
Align automation strategies with organizational priorities and long-term goals.
Project Management
Manage the lifecycle of automation projects, from requirements gathering to deployment.
Ensure on-time delivery of automation solutions within budget constraints.
Monitor and report on project progress, risks, and outcomes.
Collaborate with various teams, providing a cross-functional architectural data view to ensure end-to-end integration.
Technical Oversight
Architect scalable and secure automation solutions across diverse platforms and technologies.
Establish best practices, standards, and frameworks for automation.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex automation issues.
Enable citizen integrators in a hybrid operating model.
Stakeholder Management
Work closely with external partners to understand automation requirements.
Communicate technical solutions to non-technical stakeholders.
Ensure user satisfaction and alignment with business objectives.
Risk Management
Ensure compliance with data security and regulatory requirements.
Identify and mitigate risks associated with system automations.
Minimum qualifications
8+ years of proven experience as a Workato Automation Engineer or similar type of automation role
3+ years in a leadership role
Proven track record of successfully delivering complex integration projects
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Preferred qualifications
Expertise in Workato including connectors, recipes, and workflows
Experience with agentic orchestration for building and managing AI agents.
Excellent RESTful APIs and web services, with a deep understanding of API design principles and best practices
Experience in implementing integration projects, including complex enterprise systems and cloud business apps
Familiarity with cloud-based systems and applications, such as Workiva, Salesforce, Marketo, Anaplan/Adaptive, NetSuite/SAP/Oracle, FinancialForce/Open Air, Gainsight, Xactly, etc
Demonstrated success on high performing integration engineering teams
Excellent written and oral communication skills, conveying complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences
Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously

How You’ll Be Rewarded
✅ Salary range in the US: $151,000.00 - $242,000.00✅ A discretionary bonus typically paid annually
✅ Restricted Stock Units granted at time of hire
