Summary
The Accounts Payable Supervisor is a key member of Workiva’s controllership team. In this role, you will support the Associate Manager of Accounting by overseeing the daily activities of the accounts payable (AP) team, ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices, expense reports, and payments. You will also be responsible for executing operational procedures and processes in compliance with Sabanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements, ensuring strong internal controls are in place.
What You’ll Do
Supervise, train, and mentor a team of AP Specialists (both full-time employees and off-shore talents), ensuring optimal team performance and productivity.
Oversee the processing of vendor creation, invoicing, and vendor payments in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Assist the Associate Manager of Accounting in reviewing and approving payment runs, ensuring accuracy and adherence to financial deadlines.
Monitor the AP aging report and work to resolve any discrepancies or issues with vendors or internal stakeholders.
Assist the Associate Manager of Accounting to ensure timely and accurate reconciliation of AP sub-ledger to the general ledger.
Maintain relationships with vendors, addressing inquiries and resolving any issues or disputes promptly.
Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes by preparing and reviewing AP-related reports and schedules.
Identify process improvements within the AP function and recommend solutions to enhance efficiency.
Stay up-to-date with industry best practices and regulatory changes affecting the AP function.
What You’ll Need
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
3 years of experience in accounts payable or a related accounting role
Preferred Qualifications
Strong understanding of accounts payable processes and financial controls.
Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., Intacct, Oracle, Netsuite, SAP) and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
Experience with P2P systems (e.g., Coupa, Ariva, or similar)
Knowledge of sales tax compliance as it relates to accounts payable.
Experience working in a high-volume, multi-entity environment.
Experience at a public technology company
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to resolve discrepancies and issues effectively.
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact with vendors and internal departments at all levels.
Proven ability to work under pressure and meet goals and targets
Travel Requirements and Working Conditions
10% Travel for customer and internal meetings
Reliable internet access for any period of time working remotely and not in a Workiva office
How You’ll Be Rewarded
✅ Salary range in the US: $68,000.00 - $108,000.00✅ A discretionary bonus typically paid annually
✅ Restricted Stock Units granted at time of hire
