Financial Reporting Consultant

As a Financial Reporting Consultant (known internally as a Professional Services Manager), you’ll use your accounting expertise to support our customers through their complex external reporting needs. Working closely with clients, you’ll help manage projects that involve financial data modelling, XBRL mapping and tagging, and the review of statutory and regulatory filings. You'll receive full training on XBRL and how to use the Workiva platform to deliver high-quality reporting solutions.
What You’ll Do
- Lead customer projects to deliver accurate, high-quality financial reports, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards (GAAP, IFRS) and regulatory frameworks
- Map financial statements, notes, and schedules to the appropriate XBRL taxonomies
- Understand and apply relevant accounting policies and standards to reporting structures
- Stay current with changes in accounting standards, taxonomies, and regulatory requirements, applying updates proactively to customer work
- Manage multiple moderate-complexity projects simultaneously, ensuring on-time delivery and excellent customer satisfaction
- Resolve customer queries and technical issues, acting as a trusted advisor
- Collaborate cross-functionally with teams, including Product, Sales, and Learning & Development, to drive improvements and share customer feedback
What You’ll Need
Minumum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 2+ years' experience in accounting, financial reporting, or external audit, preferably within a firm or corporate reporting environment
Preferred Experience
- Experience with financial reporting systems or XBRL tagging is highly desirable but not required (training will be provided)
- Strong technical accounting knowledge (IFRS, regional GAAP)
- Professional Accounting Certification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CPA, or equivalent)
- Excellent communication skills, able to explain technical information clearly to clients
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines with a focus on quality and client success
- A resilient, proactive, and customer-focused approach
- Comfortable working collaboratively in a remote environment
- Exposure to regulatory filings, financial disclosure processes, or audit
Travelling Requirement & Working Conditions
- Less than 10% travel expected
- Must have reliable internet access for remote working
