Summary
As the Tax Senior Manager, you will be a critical leader in this growth, overseeing tax staff and all aspects of global tax accounting, reporting, planning, and compliance. By actively partnering with finance, legal, and business unit leaders, you will offer high-level expertise in managing tax risk and implement strategies that strategically minimize tax expenses and liabilities across our expanding global portfolio. This is an "AI-Forward" leadership role; you will go beyond traditional compliance to actively pilot and integrate AI-powered tools and intelligent automation to drive accuracy, efficiencies, and insight across all global tax operations.
What You’ll Do
Strategic Leadership
Oversee the tax staff while ensuring proper segregation of duties. Act as a dedicated mentor by providing employees with coaching, continuous feedback, and leadership development opportunities to elevate their skills and performance.
Consult internally with business unit leaders and partner with cross-functional stakeholders, including Legal, SalesOps, Partnerships, Accounts Receivable, and FP&A, ensuring tax strategies integrate smoothly with broader organizational goals.
Exercise independent judgment and innovative thinking to develop long-term functional standards, policies, and procedures that shape the tax team's global approach and drive company success.
Compliance & Reporting
Maintain ongoing vigilance over an expanding footprint of 90+ international markets and 15 entities, ensuring strict compliance and proactive risk mitigation amidst evolving global challenges.
Direct and oversee the execution of all tax compliance and provision requirements, ensuring that functional operational goals are met consistently and effectively.
Tax Provision & SEC Reporting (ASC740): Perform detailed reviews of annual and interim global tax provisions, account reconciliations, and related financial statement disclosures. Monitoring and implementing new accounting pronouncements affecting income taxes
Partner closely with external tax advisors worldwide to ensure our tax positions maintain strict adherence to local regulations while operating with a keen cultural awareness of global nuances.
Tax Planning & M&A
Partner with finance leadership and external tax advisors to identify and prioritize global tax planning strategies.
Manage the review of tax guidance on critical growth initiatives, including expansion into new international markets, the introduction of new products, and corporate initiatives like mergers, acquisitions, and reorganizations.
Manage highly complex tax issues and their financial impacts across a wide range of transactions and business initiatives, working directly alongside the Senior Director of Tax.
SOX Compliance & Internal Controls
Execute SOX controls related to the tax areas, including preparation of supporting documentation and evidence of control operation.
Assist in maintaining tax policies and procedures documentation aligned with Workiva’s COSO framework.
Support the annual SOX risk assessment process in coordination with Internal Audit
Digital Transformation & AI-Enabled Leadership
Actively pilot, evaluate, and embed AI tools into day-to-day tax workflows to accelerate research and drafting.
Proactively identify and implement scalable solutions (e.g., Alteryx, RPA, Claude, Workiva Platform, etc.) to automate workpapers and drive operational efficiencies.
Evaluate and manage tax technology solutions (e.g., ONESOURCE, Avalara) and data analytics platforms.
What You’ll Need
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
Active CPA designation.
8+ years of relevant corporate tax experience, with a combination of Big 4 and/or public companies
Preferred Qualifications
3 years of direct people management experience, including supervisor experience of managers
Extensive, proven experience in global tax strategy and managing complexities associated with global scaling.
Solid, hands-on experience preparing and reviewing ASC 740 income tax provisions, including interim period disclosures.
Advanced understanding of complex corporate tax principles and accounting principles.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a remote environment with the requirement of reliable, high-speed internet.
Master’s degree in Taxation (MST) or JD (requires 6+ years of relevant experience).
Significant background in public accounting (Big 4 strongly preferred).
Demonstrated commitment to the broader tax profession (e.g., active leadership in professional organizations)
Travel Requirements & Working Conditions
Ability to travel up to 10% travel for customer meetings and internal events
Reliable internet access for any period of time working remotely and not in a Workiva office
How You’ll Be Rewarded
✅ Salary range in the US: $133,000.00 - $214,000.00✅ A discretionary bonus typically paid annually
✅ Restricted Stock Units granted at time of hire
✅ 401(k) match and comprehensive employee benefits package
The salary range represents the low and high end of the salary range for this job in the US. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience and other relevant factors.
