As our AVP, Sales for EMEA South, you will be the driving force behind the continued success and expansion of our sales organisation across Southern Europe.
This is an exciting, high-growth opportunity for Workiva in Southern Europe (France, Iberia, Italy, and the Mediterranean). We are seeking a leader with a true builder mindset—someone who thrives in dynamic environments, scales GTM motions, and can leverage a strong network across the Southern European business landscape. The AVP will elevate our go-to-market infrastructure, deepen executive-level customer and partner relationships, nurture top talent, and translate strategic vision into high-impact field execution across both established and emerging territories.
What You'll Do
Develop and own the forward-looking sales strategy for EMEA South, innovating and scaling go-to-market playbooks as we expand across the region
Lead, mentor, and empower a team of first-line sales managers and regional teams
Cultivate a high-performance, inclusive culture built on accountability, collaboration, and shared ambition where diverse talent thrives
Drive strategic talent initiatives to build a robust pipeline of top sales talent—attracting, developing, and retaining the future leaders of the region
Identify market opportunities and analyze the competitive landscape across sub-regions to capture new market share
Collaborate closely with Marketing, Product, Partnerships, and Customer Success to align regional strategies with global company objectives
Manage sales forecasts, budgets, and resource allocation with operational rigor and strategic discipline
Monitor key performance metrics to optimize execution, unlock new opportunities, and maintain a high growth trajectory
Articulate a clear and compelling vision for EMEA South, inspiring the team to achieve ambitious targets and deliver exceptional customer experiences
Oversee the full sales cycle—from pipeline generation to deal closure—ensuring a customer-centric, value-driven approach
Champion key customer and partner relationships across the region, serving as an executive sponsor and primary escalation point
Represent Workiva at major industry events and executive customer meetings as a senior advocate and thought leader
Maintain a high standard of integrity and alignment with Workiva's core company values
What You'll Need
Minimum Qualifications
12+ years of related career experience in complex software sales - with a significant tenure in Software as a Service (SaaS)
8+ years of progressive sales team management experience
Experience as a second-line leader managing other people managers
Undergraduate Degree or equivalent combination of knowledge and related career experience
Preferred Qualifications
A deep understanding of the Software as a Service (SaaS) business model and scaling motions
A proven sales track record of consistently achieving and exceeding sales targets with complex technology solutions
A player-coach mindset with a passion for actively supporting and guiding teams on complex enterprise and mid-market opportunities
Proven ability to manage, coach, and elevate a high-performing, diverse team of sales professionals
Exceptional communication skills, business acumen, and executive presence to engage at the highest levels internally and externally
Deep capability in navigating decision-making hierarchies, identifying influencers versus buyers during complex sales cycles
Ability to guide teams through multiple concurrent, high-value sales cycles
Strong value-based negotiation skills that protect deal value and long-term customer relationships
Excellent judgment, strategic vision, and creative problem-solving skills
Fluency in English is essential - additional fluency in Spanish, French, or Italian is advantageous
Travel Requirements and Working Conditions
Up to 50% travel for regular customer meetings and events
Reliable internet access required for any period of time working remotely
