Cloud Architect (Spain Only)
Software Engineering, IT
León, Spain
POSITION DESCRIPTION
At Technosylva, we are looking for a Cloud Architect to join our IT Infrastructure team, a cross-functional team that supports both of the company's business units (Technosylva and KatRisk).
The Cloud Architect's primary mission will be to act as the cloud architecture reference for the IT Infrastructure team, guiding the evolution of the infrastructure under our scope, leading the standardization, integration, and governance of our AWS and Azure environments, and driving cross-cutting initiatives such as FinOps at the organizational level.
This role is particularly relevant given the current growth of the KatRisk business unit, which has recently incorporated several companies through M&A, each with its own legacy cloud environment.
The Cloud Architect will be responsible for consolidating and harmonizing those environments, defining common architectural patterns, and establishing the foundation for a sustainable, secure, and financially efficient cloud operation.
In addition to their standardization work, they will provide support to KatRisk's engineering and modeling teams, acting as a technical partner in cloud solution design, technology evaluation, and the resolution of complex challenges.
We are looking for an architect with strategic vision, strong ability to influence, and deep multi-cloud technical expertise, someone capable of balancing long-term solution design with the day-to-day pragmatism required in a post-M&A integration scenario.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Standardize and govern the cloud architecture, including managed databases, by establishing common standards, patterns, and guardrails for AWS and Azure environments.
- Drive a company-wide FinOps strategy: tagging policy, cost visibility and attribution, optimization, and showback models across business units.
- Ensure that security and compliance controls (ISO 27001, SOC2, or other relevant frameworks) are embedded into the cloud architecture by design.
- Provide technical leadership for the consolidation and integration of legacy cloud environments inherited from M&A activity within the KatRisk business unit, harmonizing operations, connectivity, observability, and security.
- Provide architectural support to KatRisk teams, acting as a technical partner in the design of new solutions, the evolution of existing ones, and the resolution of complex problems.
- Enable sustainable, resilient 24/7 operations through runbook creation, operational automation, Disaster Recovery strategies, and infrastructure design that facilitates incident response and on-call rotations.
- Document architectural decisions, reference patterns, and guides for consuming teams, fostering a culture of ownership, transparency, and continuous learning.
- Promote Infrastructure as Code across environments within the team's scope, with reusable Terraform modules, Ansible playbooks and standardized deployment workflows.
- Provide technical mentorship to the IT team and KatRisk teams that need it, raising overall cloud maturity.
- Evaluate and recommend the adoption of new cloud services and technologies, assessing their impact on performance, reliability, cost, and operability.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Proven experience (8–10+ years) in cloud infrastructure engineering, with at least 4–5 years in cloud architect or technical reference roles.
- FinOps experience: tagging strategy definition, cost visibility and attribution models, optimization (Savings Plans, Reserved Instances, Commitments), rightsizing, and driving a cost-aware culture across engineering teams.
- Hands-on experience with AWS and Azure as cloud providers, including production-grade design and operation of workloads and managed services on both.
- Strong experience with Terraform and Ansible.
- Experience leading cloud integration or consolidation efforts, workload migrations, and connectivity harmonization.
- Experience in multi-tenant SaaS environments or product platforms.
- Experience preparing cloud infrastructure for sustainable, resilient 24/7 operation: runbook definition, operational automation, Disaster Recovery strategies (RTO/RPO), and design oriented toward effective incident response.
- Full professional English proficiency required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with compute-intensive workloads, large-scale storage, or scientific data pipelines.
- Prior experience in post-M&A or multi-company environments.
- Experience addressing inherited technical debt in cloud environments, particularly in consolidation or standardization scenarios.
- Familiarity with CI/CD applied to infrastructure: GitOps, Terraform pipelines, automated validation, and promotion across environments.
- Experience with cross-cutting observability tooling (Grafana stack, CloudWatch, Azure Monitor).
- Architect-level cloud certifications: AWS Solutions Architect Professional and/or Azure Solutions Architect Expert.
EDUCATION
- Degree or certifications in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Systems Administration, or Software Development.
- English certifications are a plus.
BENEFITS
- Competitive annual salary.
- Private health insurance and a flexible benefits plan, allowing you to tailor part of your compensation package to your personal needs.
- Annual bonus based on individual performance and company results.
- Flexible working hours.
- Remote work options.
