Do you want the most meaningful job of your career? UNDO is on a mission to tackle the greatest challenge of our time: climate change. We are a fast-growing for-profit business that is already one of the biggest carbon dioxide removal companies in the world. But this is only the start - we have ambitious plans aligned with great funding, excellent people and an inclusive team. You too could make your mark and help remove 1 million tonnes of CO by 2030 with our nature-based technology, enhanced weathering.

About the role

UNDO is on a mission to tackle the greatest challenge of our time: climate change. We have set-up a range of field trials and a mesocosm study designed to detect weathering signals, validate our geochemical model, provide robust evidence of enhanced rock weathering as a carbon removal tool, and show the agronomic co-benefits of enhanced weathering. To support our ambitious growth plans, we have a great opportunity for a Lab Coordinator to join our research team.

What you will do

This is an exciting opportunity to join a leading-edge company actively working on a promising solution to the climate emergency. • Support research activities, assist with soil and pore water sampling, prepare and analyze samples, and manage the collections from various research sites around Eastern Ontario.
  • Maintain a safe and efficient working environment for lab users. Ensure adherence to safety protocols and quality standards, manage documentation, and maintain the lab's accreditation and compliance with regulatory requirements for compliance and quality assurance.
  • Review relevant scientific literature and monitor results to develop new methods and enhance existing sample preparation and measurement techniques, ensuring consistently high-quality outcomes.
  • Collaborate and communicate with field technicians, providing advice and guidance as needed. Support fieldwork including potential travel to research sites.
  • Supervise lab and field technicians, providing necessary training, and fostering a collaborative and efficient working environment.
  • Communicate and collaborate regularly with research teams to align laboratory activities with fieldwork goals.
  • Responsible for the procurement of lab supplies and consumables, maintaining inventory records, and managing vendor relationships.
  • Oversee data management, including the recording, archiving, and managing of sample collections and research data.
