Inventory Control Specialist Job Description
At Vatn Systems, we specialize in designing and manufacturing advanced Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUVs) that push the boundaries of underwater exploration and defense technology. Our AUVs integrate complex electro-mechanical systems, high-precision sensors, and cutting-edge software to operate in challenging marine environments.
We are seeking a detail-oriented Inventory Control Specialist to join our growing team and play a key role in ensuring efficient inventory management as we transition products from research and development to full-scale production. This role involves maintaining accurate inventory records, managing stock levels, and optimizing warehouse operations to support our mission.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Track inventory and stock changes while maintaining accurate documentation of any necessary changes
- Unload and verify deliveries to ensure all necessary information is accurate, detailed and completed
- Maintain a high level of organization and cleanliness at all times
- Organize and conduct cycle counts and checks for in-house, 3PL and field inventory on a regular basis
- Undertake stock movement by means of hands or forklift truck (manual or powered)
- Conduct inventory audits as required
- Pick, pack, and ship spare parts while moving the inventory to the proper locations in our system.
- Flag material shortages to necessary parties and manage root cause corrective action
- Implement inventory controls to aid in inventory integrity and material flow.
- Produce kits in line with the production plan and Production Control while communicating any blockers
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience in inventory control or a related field.
- Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or 10 years experience in supply chain management, logistics, or a related field.
- Certification in inventory management or supply chain management.
- Familiarity with warehouse operations and inventory handling processes.
- Ability to lift and move heavy items, if required
