About Us

At Vatn Systems, we are building the next underwater autonomy prime, starting with next-generation Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUVs) and a collaborative software platform for deep-sea exploration and modern defense missions. Our AUVs integrate complex electro-mechanical systems, precision sensors, and advanced software to perform in the harshest marine environments.

Role Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and highly organized Chief of Staff to join our team in Bristol, Rhode Island. This role will act as a strategic partner to the CEO, helping to align priorities, manage cross-functional initiatives, and ensure that Vatn Systems scales effectively as we grow. The Chief of Staff will play a central role in driving operational excellence, strategy, communication, and execution across the company.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with the CEO to manage strategic priorities, ensuring focus on high-impact initiatives.
  • Drive company-wide OKRs, goal-setting, and tracking of execution.
  • Coordinate cross-functional projects across engineering, operations, business development, and finance.
  • Help the CEO for key meetings, including briefings, agendas, and follow-ups.
  • Lead internal communications and help shape company culture.
  • Support fundraising activities, investor relations, corporate development, and board meetings through research, materials preparation, and follow-up.
  • Identify gaps and implement scalable systems and processes as the company grows.
  • Act as a thought partner to leadership, providing insights and recommendations.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience in investment banking, private equity, management consulting, venture-backed startups, or strategic/operational roles.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and project management skills, including strong financial modeling skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to develop high quality memos and decks.
  • Proven ability to work independently and handle ambiguity in a fast-paced environment.
  • High emotional intelligence with strong interpersonal skills to build trust across teams.
  • Passion for robotics, ocean technology, or defense innovation is a plus.
