About Vaulted

Vaulted Deep is a cutting-edge technology company that injects waste deep underground to support sustainability goals while providing waste management solutions to support clean land, air and water. Vaulted is based in Houston, San Francisco, and Kansas.

With a growing team of 50+ people across the country, Vaulted signed a $58.3 million offtake agreement with Frontier, and completed a $32 million Series A round in 2024. Vaulted's proprietary technology builds on decades of expertise to deliver safe, durable carbon and waste management solutions, now, at scale.

About the Role

At Vaulted, we have an aggressive plan to rapidly develop new sites and deliver high-quality carbon removal. Many of those sites are in waste-sheds with many potential waste providers. As the Senior Manager, Strategic Sourcing, you will be responsible for sourcing waste for these sites that that strategically align with business objectives and growth plans. Responsibilities include:

  • Waste Sourcing: Manage a team of Business Development Managers and other staff to source waste for Vaulted’s current and future facilities. Ensure that Vaulted hits its waste sourcing goals for volume, quality and economics. Vaulted currently has one Business Development Manager responsible for waste sourcing at our Hutchinson, KS facility and will grow the team as new facilities come online.
  • New Site Waste Scoping and Sourcing: Validate the waste market for future standalone facilities by reaching out to potential waste partners near the facility, gathering samples and assessing the market. Maintain and develop those relationships as Vaulted secures, permits and constructs new facilities.
  • Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot challenges with waste streams. This can include leading cross functional tiger teams for particularly vexing issues. Common challenges include pre-processing, logistics and material quality.
  • CDR Quality. Maintain Vaulted’s high-quality CDR by adhering to industry-standard biomass sourcing principles.
  • Pipeline Management: Manage Vaulted’s waste pipeline for standalone sites, providing forecasts and updates to Vaulted’s leadership on a regular cadence.
  • Internal Coordination: Coordination with Vaulted’s operations, data and CDR teams to ensure that material meets Vaulted’s needs.
  • Team Development: mentor and develop your team to enable them to grow with Vaulted as Vaulted grows.
  • Safety: Improve on Vaulted’s SOPs for waste sampling, and ensure that the team follows best practices for waste sampling and other business development activities.
