Robotics Project Manager

Vecna Robotics seeks a detail-oriented, results driven Robotics Project Manager with experience managing technically complex projects. The Robotics Project Manager is a hands-on, highly visible role with direct involvement in all aspects of deploying our autonomous solutions. Leading the deployment of our products/systems at customer sites, this role is responsible for establishing and reporting the status of site deployment activities, and for issue resolution and problem solving. Working cross-functionally, the Robotics Project Manager will lead continuous improvement efforts internally and externally by devising new processes.
The ideal candidate is excited about automation and overseeing the deployment of automated systems from the initial project kickoff through the achievement of fully autonomous operations. The Robotics Project Manager position requires excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to clearly articulate information across stakeholder levels. Good negotiation and relationship management skills are required to both direct technical teams and to manage and reach solutions among competing priorities.
Reporting to the Director, Deployment and Field Operations, this is a full-time, salaried role based at our Waltham, MA headquarters. Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time.

In this role, the Robotics Project Manager will:
  • Plan and manage client-facing automation solutions, overseeing all aspects of the product deployment in a complex environment.
  • Conduct scoping visits to client sites to define project scope and gather requirements collaboratively with the customer.
  • Drive the development and execution of detailed project plans, ensuring alignment with timelines, quality standards, and budget objectives.
  • Lead proactive, transparent communication of project status, risks, and milestones to cross-functional teams and senior leadership.
  • Define and track key metrics for the project and identify lessons learned for future projects.
  • Facilitate the resolution of issues, risks, and challenges that surface in the deployment processes.
  • Develop and oversee lean-focused, continual improvement of new standards, processes and procedures that streamline interactions and communication across teams.
  • Identify execution gaps and support the development of internal processes to improve overall project flow. Conduct technical reviews of site specifications and support customer training requirements.
  • Foster a culture focused on transparency, speed of decision-making, and a synchronized partnership within teams and stakeholders.
  • Mentor/train new hires on day-to-day project management activities and best practices.
  • Travel required (~20-30%).
What we are looking for:
  • 5–7 years of experience in engineering or product-focused roles, including 3+ years of project management in complex, customer-facing environments deploying technical solutions.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or engineering required; master’s degree preferred
  • Proven track record handling multiple concurrent technical projects
  • Automated material handling experience in distribution center and/or automotive sector strongly preferred
  • Skilled in facilitating engaging customer meetings across all stakeholder levels and driving productive outcomes.
  • Proficient in project management and analytics tools (e.g., Tableau, AWS Athena), with a strong track record of using data and metrics to drive process improvements and informed decision-making.
  • Exceptional cross-functional communication, negotiation, critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • PMP or Six Sigma certification a plus
  • Travel required (~20-30%)
