Sales Manager (Location: Houston, or remote with 40% travel)

What is Verse?

Climate change, policy pressures, and energy market volatility are driving companies across all industries to announce emissions reduction commitments. Despite these commitments, direct renewable energy purchases are currently only accessible to a small handful of the world’s largest companies. Verse was created to solve this problem.

Our software platform, Aria, is the first to leverage AI to empower companies to understand, plan, and manage clean power. By enabling customers to save money and reduce their scope 2 emissions at the same time, Verse helps scale and accelerate corporate decarbonization.


The Role

The Sales Manager will spearhead the aggressive pursuit of new business opportunities, demonstrating relentless drive and determination to expand the customer base for Verse’s Aria software. This role is pivotal in capturing exciting new deals while maintaining a strong focus on strategic market expansion and customer engagement within the SaaS B2B sector. With a hands-on approach to crafting and executing sales strategies, the Sales Manager will leverage the latest sales enablement tools to achieve outstanding sales results and business growth. Meeting and exceeding sales targets is a critical component of this role.


Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Actively pursue and secure new business opportunities, demonstrating a relentless drive to expand the customer base for Verse’s SaaS offerings.
  • Support and collaborate with the existing sales team in aggressive market penetration and capturing exciting new deals.
  • Forge and deepen relationships with key decision-makers across potential customer organizations, showcasing the unique value of our data-driven solutions.
  • Collaborate dynamically with marketing and product teams to tailor sales strategies that resonate with emerging market trends and customer needs.
  • Employ a tenacious approach to market analysis, using insights to relentlessly refine and adapt sales tactics.
  • Champion the negotiation processes with potential major clients, driving towards favorable terms that align with aggressive business growth goals.
  • Consistently meet and exceed established sales targets and quotas.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Proven sales experience with a track record of meeting or exceeding targets, including at least 3 years in a sales management or leadership role within a technology sector.
  • Strong interpersonal and team management skills.
  • Good negotiation and organizational abilities.
  • Effective communication skills across multiple levels of an organization.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the SaaS B2B sector.
  • Demonstrated success in expanding market presence and securing high-value deals.
  • Advanced proficiency in using sales enablement tools and CRM systems.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret market data and trends.
  • Ability to develop and execute strategic sales plans.
