Work on Climate (WoCl) is a leading non-profit focused on mobilizing humanity’s talent to build a regenerative, climate-positive economy. We’re now supporting professionals to engage in climate leadership — organizing, mobilizing, and transforming sectors and regions. Weekly meeting: Tuesdays at 11:30AM PST.Role Summary: The Volunteer Engagement Coordinator is our internal “Chief Vibes Officer” and ultimate connector of people. With support from the People and Culture Manager, you will create meaningful touchpoints with volunteers so they feel welcomed, supported, and connected to our mission. You will be highly self-motivated, break down large tasks, prioritize, and seek help when needed. Collaborate with People & Culture Manager and People Ops team to build a strong volunteer experience.Responsibilities may include: • Coordinate our monthly 45-min virtual Humanity Huddle (calendar invites, Slack promotion, brainstorming, attend to support) • Act as a friendly, welcoming face for new volunteers; connect the dots across the organization • Be a vibrant presence in Slack; facilitate connections across siloed teams to build a unified culture • Gather/share feedback to inform deeper engagement strategies • Assist with internal documentation, messaging, and culture-building initiativesSkills needed: • Strong People/HR background (2+ years) and interest in culture/engagement • Naturally enthusiastic and positive • Comfortable being authentic and encouraging others to be • Open to feedback and collaboration; attend Tuesday meetings • Excellent written/verbal communication to hype events, write engaging Slack messages, and chat with new volunteers • Interest in growing experience in people ops/engagement/culture-focused roles • Comfort with Slack, Notion, Canva, Zoom and related toolsCommon Challenges: • Coaching more technical/introverted teams to host community events without over-engineering • Global volunteers require flexible scheduling to maximize turnout • Keeping siloed teams organized/on track requires proactive communication and follow-up • Ensuring inclusion and value for all volunteers requires consistent effort and strong teamworkI’m interested!
