About the team: 7 members geo-located across North America and the UK; weekly meeting Tuesdays at 11:30AM PST. Role Summary: Internal “Chief Vibes Officer” and connector of people focused on creating meaningful touchpoints with volunteers so they feel welcomed, supported, and connected to the mission; welcome new talent and bring teams together for authentic connection; collaborate with the People & Culture Manager. Time commitment: ~5 hours/week for at least 6 months; weekly team meeting attendance required. What’s in it for me? Responsibilities: Coordinate the monthly 45-min Humanity Huddle (set calendar invites, promote in Slack, brainstorm with hosting team, attend to support); act as a friendly welcoming face for new volunteers and connect the dots across the organization; be a vibrant Slack presence to facilitate connections and unify culture; gather and share feedback to inform engagement strategies; assist with internal documentation, messaging, and creative culture-building. Skills and commitment: Strong People/HR background (2+ years) with interest in culture and engagement; enthusiastic and positive presence; authenticity and vulnerability; openness to feedback and collaboration; excellent written and verbal communication; interest in growing in people ops/engagement/culture roles; comfort with Slack, Notion, Canva, Zoom. Common challenges: coaching technical/introverted teams to host events; scheduling across global time zones; proactively keeping siloed teams organized and on track; ensuring every volunteer feels included and valued through consistent, team-based effort.
