Work on Climate (WoCl) is a leading non-profit focused on mobilizing humanity’s talent to build a regenerative, climate-positive economy. About the team: The Community Cultivation Team creates a relational community for members—supporting career transitions, sharing industry knowledge, and fostering connections. Current team meetings: Fridays at 9am PT / 12pm ET / 6pm CET.Role summary: Help members feel genuinely at home in the WoCl community and connected to the broader climate movement. Steward interactions, uphold guidelines, and model relational, reciprocal behavior.Time commitment: ~5 hours/week; attendance at weekly team meetings.Why volunteer: Apply your skills to managing a 30K+ Slack community; hone conflict resolution and communication; support long-term community engagement; pursue new methods to address community needs.What you’ll do: Act as a culture carrier; review active channels daily; observe and analyze behavior to inform strategy; connect members; attend to member form responses.Skills: Self-motivated; excellent communication; critical thinking; empathetic problem-solving; ability to identify/implement automation opportunities is a plus.Common challenges: Being empathetic and firm; maintaining consistency across moderation decisions; balancing urgent tasks with long-term strategy; finding the right level of structure.Apply: Fill out the application form provided in the posting.
