WoCl’s Impact Research Team studies the organization’s impact and informs programming strategy, funder narratives, and understanding of the 40,000+ member community. Anchor deliverable: Annual Impact Report; plus 1–2 community surveys per year using mixed methods (surveys, interviews, case studies, usage metrics).Role summary: Volunteer Team Lead to co-lead the Impact Research Team (5–8 analysts) and bridge WoCl leadership and analysts. Set research direction, manage workstreams and timelines, ensure rigorous, decision-useful outputs. This is a strategic thought partnership and project management role rather than hands-on analysis.Time commitment: 8–12 hours/week; weekly team meeting currently Mondays at 11:30am PT; request 6–12+ months.Why volunteer: Strengthen program and people leadership; advise on research methodology; translate org strategy into research priorities; evaluate impact across the org; public-facing work adds a strong leadership line to your resume.Responsibilities: Determine impact-related research questions; lead projects through execution and presentation; maintain team culture; recruit/onboard volunteers; synthesize outputs for leadership; manage tracking in Asana/Notion/Drive.Skills: 5–7+ years mixed-methods research; 3–5+ years program/org leadership or project management; stakeholder collaboration; strong written/oral communication; ability to commit for 6–12 months; English fluency; nonprofit/volunteer experience a plus.Common challenges: Shifting org strategy and priorities; deciding when to step in on methodology; refining questions as work evolves; managing volunteer capacity changes.Apply: Use the application form linked in the posting.
