Overview
We are seeking a motivated individual with experience to join our team as an Autoclave Operator Technician. In this role, you will have the opportunity to further develop your skills in operating and monitoring autoclave equipment used in the curing of composite materials. Job duties include machine operations including proper loading and unloading of parts, setting up and adjusting process parameters, and closely monitoring the autoclave throughout the curing cycle. 1st shift - Monday – Thursday: 7AM- 5:30PM
2nd shift- Monday - Thursday: 5:30PM - 4:00AM
3rd shift -Friday - Sunday: 6AM - 6:30PM
Responsibilities
- Assist in the loading and unloading of composite parts into the autoclave, ensuring proper positioning and securing for safe curing.
- Monitor and record autoclave readings, including temperature, pressure, and cycle times, to ensure proper curing conditions are maintained.
- Assist in conducting routine maintenance tasks on the autoclave equipment, including cleaning, calibration, and troubleshooting minor issues.
- Follow standard operating procedures and safety guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
- Maintain autoclave equipment such as vacuum hoses and disassemble, assemble, maintain, and repair ports to prepare for production use
Required
- HS Diploma or GED Equivalent
- Experience working in fast-paced, time sensitive environments
- Demonstrated abilities following standardized work instructions, technical requirements, and executing standard processes.
- Ability to lift 50lbs aided or unaided throughout the day.
- Basic computer skills for documentation and record-keeping purposes.
- Must wear PPE when required.
- Have no known allergies to epoxies or other composites materials and able to become certified to wear a respirator.
- Must be able to walk or stand for extended periods.
- Must be able to stoop, bend, crawl, and being able to maneuver in tight spaces
- Ability to become forklift, crane, or equipment certified
- Must be able to continuously stand, squatt bend, pull, twist, and lift throughout the workday.
Desired
- 1+ year of manufacturing experience
- 1 year of experience working with autoclave equipment in a manufacturing or composites industry setting
- Familiarity with autoclave operations, including loading/unloading, process parameter adjustment, and monitoring.
- Experience working in a regulated manufacturing environment
- Experience in a high-volume production environment that relies on a well-defined process to achieve maximum efficiency.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing or 5S environments.
The target base pay for this position is $18-$32/hr. The compensation package will be determined by job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
