Position overview & purpose

We are seeking a skilled Process Technician 3rd shift to join our team of experts in the photovoltaic cell manufacturing industry. The Process Technician will be responsible for operating and maintaining machinery used in the production of high-quality photovoltaic cells. The successful candidate will be detail-oriented and possess a strong work ethic to ensure the timely and efficient completion of all tasks.

Essential duties & responsibilities

  • Set up and operate production equipment to manufacture photovoltaic cells in accordance with production schedules and quality standards.
  • Monitor the production process to ensure that products meet quality standards and specifications.
  • Perform routine inspections and maintenance on machines to prevent breakdowns and ensure optimal performance.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment malfunctions and make necessary adjustments or repairs.
  • Maintain accurate records of machine performance, production output, and inventory levels.
  • Collaborate with other team members, including engineers and technicians, to identify opportunities for process improvement and implement solutions.
  • Follow all safety guidelines and procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment and the handling of hazardous materials.

Knowledge, skills & abilities

  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, equipment operation, and maintenance practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and specifications.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours and overtime as needed.

Basic qualifications & competencies

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associate degree or certification in a related field.
  • Experience in manufacturing or production environments.
  • Must be able to provide proof of eligibility to work in the U.S.

Preferred qualifications & competencies

  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, equipment operation, and maintenance practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and specifications.
  • Background in material science or related fields is a plus.
  • Familiarity with photovoltaic cell manufacturing processes and equipment is desirable.
  • Experience with statistical process control and lean manufacturing principles.

Physical demands and working environment

  • Stand, walk, and/or sit for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to use hands and arms to manipulate tools and equipment.
  • Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment, including safety glasses and hearing protection.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment with tight deadlines.
